In 2018, three passionate horticulturists, two of them former professors at Kerala Agricultural University, noticed that genuine Kasthuri Turmeric had almost disappeared from the market and that a different plant was being sold in its place. They set out to grow the real one again. Today, we bring the same care to every product: original, single-ingredient, with nothing added.

    Which products are currently available?

    How do I know this is genuine Kasthuri Turmeric?

    Check three things: 

    • the powder is cream to wheat-bran in colour (not bright yellow), 
    • it has a mild camphorseous-like aroma, and 
    • the rhizome's cut surface is cream rather than yellow. 

    Ours is genuine Curcuma aromatica, grown and processed by horticulturists in Kerala.

    Will it leave a yellow stain on my skin?

    Genuine Kasthuri Turmeric is cream-coloured, so it doesn't leave the strong yellow tint that cheap substitutes does. A light tint, if any, rinses off with water.

    Is it suitable for sensitive skin?

    Most people use it without any trouble, but every skin is different. Patch-test on your inner elbow by applying for 20-30 minutes, and wait for 24 hours before first use. Make sure there is no allergy, or skin rashes before using the product. 
    Mix it with pure milk, pure honey, curd or rose water rather than applying it dry.

    Is Panam Kalkandu the same as regular sugar candy (kalkandu)?

    No. Regular kalkandu is crystallised cane sugar. Panam Kalkandu is crystallised from palm sap and has a mild, earthy sweetness. Ours is made from palm sap alone, with nothing added.

    What is Raw Nendran Banana Powder and how is It different from common ripe banana powder?

    It is pure, dehydrated, and finely ground green (unripe) Nendran banana.
    Raw Nendran banana powder is savory/neutral and rich in resistant starch, whereas ripe Nendran banana powder is sweet and high in natural sugars.
